It's been a good week :)
Sunday - Spent some time registering! Lots of fun :)
Monday - Submitted 20+ questions to be sent to H's orphanage! We're praying and hoping we get answers to the questions we asked....and that those answers come relatively quickly :)
Woke up to an e-mail from another adoptive mom - she said "OF COURSE" to a pleading e-mail I had sent the night before. It's a good thing :)
Tuesday - We received confirmed travel dates for our agency's FEBRUARY travel group! This is n-o-t to say that we will be part of that group, but it is possible!
Started working on something in H's bathroom, which is a rather large and cavernous space. It needed something to brighten it up a bit. We ordered the decals last Saturday and they came on Monday! It's a work in progress :)
Wednesday - Ended the day with the much-anticipated e-mail from the Adopted Children's Immigrant Visa Unit in C*. At the end of the e-mail, they said "We look forward to meeting you and your new family member when you come to the Consulate for your visa appointment!" Yay!!
Thursday - "Somewhere Between" came to our town and we reached K's goal - DOUBLE the tickets we were required to get for the event to be confirmed!
Also received the e-mail letting us know that our passports and visas were headed back to us!
Friday - Ran into some trouble with F*dEx - and didn't end up getting our passports and visas.
While I was waiting for the package to arrive, one of our sweet neighbors came over and delivered a very lovely - and soft - blanket for H! And get this - she had NO idea what H's room looks like...no idea at all. She prayed before picking out the material for his room, and check it out -
It is perfect! Check out those colors; they go with his room perfectly! And did I mention that the blanket is so soft? Love it! We were blown away by her kindness; she makes these for her grandchildren and made one for our H. So so awesome!
Saturday - Finally got our passports and visas! After many phone calls and a fair amount of frustration, we picked them up at our local F*dEx Office Saturday morning!
Our "to do" list grows by the day, but thankfully we're also getting things checked off. Someone mentioned this time being like the end of a pregnancy, and I suppose it is - we're in the final weeks! However, unlike a pregnancy, we're not only preparing to welcome our first child into our home but also preparing to travel halfway across the world - with minimal luggage - to get him! Crazy....crazy busy....and crazy exciting! :)
Whew! Look at you go, girl! You are sailing right though this. Registering? So fun. The blanket? Awesome. Visas? Perfect timing. Praying that February is the month that hold your forever family day.

DeleteWow, you're getting so close! You give me hope that there is an end to all of this waiting! (we're on day 60 of our LOA wait right now) I love the wall decal and the sweet blanket. Can't wait to hear your TA announcement when it arrives!
ReplyDeleteThere is an end, Becca, although I know a LOT of the time it doesn't not feel like it :) You're getting close too - before you know it you'll have LOA and it all goes pretty quickly from there! Thank you :)
DeleteLove all the excitement! We got our TA to get our son from China on Jan 23rd 2012 and we traveled on Feb 15th! Good Luck and safe Travels!
